Our process

How we work

Applying for help is exposing enough without a process you cannot see into. Here is exactly what happens, in what order, and roughly how long each part takes.

The four stages

What happens after you press submit

Stage 1

Apply

You tell us what is actually happening.

You create an account, choose the program that fits, and complete an application in your own time. Drafts save as you go, so you can gather documents over several sittings rather than in one anxious sitting.

  • Program-specific questions — no irrelevant forms
  • Upload documents securely; nothing is sent by plain email
  • Return and finish whenever you are ready
Stage 2

Assess

We read it properly, then we talk to you.

A reviewer checks eligibility and completeness first. If your application is a fit, we invite you to a conversation — usually a video call — because a form has never yet told us everything that matters.

  • Eligibility screened against published criteria
  • A virtual interview for shortlisted applicants
  • Verification of quotes, invoices, or enrolment where relevant
Stage 3

Support

Funds are released in a way that holds.

Awards are structured rather than lump-sum: staged against milestones where that protects the outcome, and paired with a mentor who knows your situation by name.

  • Staged disbursement tied to real milestones
  • A named mentor or coach for the duration
  • Tools, training, or introductions where money alone won’t do it
Stage 4

Transform

We stay until the goal is finished.

We check in, record outcomes, and adjust when life does something unexpected. When you are through it, we invite you into Pay-It-Forward Pathways — because the person behind you is standing where you once stood.

  • Progress reviewed on an agreed rhythm
  • Outcomes recorded for our annual reporting
  • An open invitation to mentor the next recipient
Timelines

How long each program usually takes

These are typical timelines from a complete submission. Urgent medical and housing cases are triaged ahead of the queue.

If you are in immediate danger

Our humanitarian program is not an emergency service. Please contact your local emergency number first — then come to us for what follows.

Before you begin

What to have ready, and what we will never ask for

Documents you will likely need

Government-issued photo ID, and evidence specific to your request — transcripts and an enrolment letter for scholarships, quotes or invoices for grants, a lease or bill for humanitarian support.

Your story, in your words

Every application asks you to describe your situation and what a successful outcome looks like. There is no correct phrasing. Plain and specific always reads best.

How your information is held

Documents are stored in encrypted storage and visible only to reviewers handling your file. We never publish your story or images without your written consent.

What we will never ask

We never charge an application fee, never ask for payment to release an award, and never request your banking password. If someone claims otherwise, it is not us.

Ready when you are

Start an application and save your progress as you go, or ask us a question first — both are perfectly normal.
